During this 10-day tour you will be immersed in Moroccan culture, the impressive rugged landscape of the Atlas Mountains and attention will be paid to your inner self.

Discover Morocco in a special way during this guided tour with Robby and Marleen. They will take you on a voyage of discovery through this beautiful country and back to yourself.

An enrichment for your body and mind with yoga, meditation, healing through shamanic techniques and cranio sacral therapy, awareness and time for yourself.

DAY PROGRAMME

Day 1: Amsterdam – Marrakech.
Arrival in Marrakech, At the airport our guide is waiting for us, after which we drive on to our hotel `Riad du petit Prince` in the old town of Marrakech-Medina.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate (approx. 197 km)
After breakfast we follow one of the most beautiful mountain routes in Morocco through the High Atlas. Along the way we enjoy beautiful views over the peaks of the High Atlas and the barren, wild mountain landscape, where sometimes surprisingly green spots pop up with small Berber villages.
From the atmospheric mountain village of Taddert the road continues up to the passes of the High Atlas (Tizi-n-Tichka 2260 m). After that we descend further to the impressive Telouet kasbah and then via the valley of Oued Ounila to the beautiful “Kasbah Ait Benhaddou”. This imposing kasbah is 30 km away from Ouarzazate, the most beautiful castle town in Morocco with a picturesque centre that has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From Ait Benhadou the tour continues to the city of Ouarzazate where we visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. This is an important historical building. Because of the beautiful surroundings several film companies have their own film studios here.
We spend the night in a Kasbah in Ouarzazate.

Day 3: Ouarzazate – Zagora (approx. 170 km)
From Ouarzazate we continue our journey through the Anti Atlas (Small Atlas) to Zagora. Then we descend to the Draa Valley with its many laurel bushes and palm trees. We pass beautiful old kasbahs of a thousand years and older. In the afternoon a lovely dip in the pool.

Day 4: Zagora – Sand dunes of Chegaga (approx. 160 km)
Today we follow the Draar River, with its thousands of palm trees and many beautiful villages. The road leads to the village “Tamegroute”. There are a number of craft cooperatives, where craftsmen make and sell handicrafts. On the Jbel Zagora are the ruins of a fortress from the time of the Almoravids (11th century).
In the afternoon we arrive at Oasis of Oulad Driss. After lunch we cross a dry area with tamarisk bushes. We arrive at the beautiful golden sand dunes of Chegaga, and then enjoy the beautiful sunset.
At this spot we have the possibility to make a camel trip.
We stay 2 nights in a comfortable Nomad tent at the sand dunes of Arg Chegaga.

Day 5: Sand dunes of Chegaga
Enjoy the sand dunes at this special location in the desert, interspersed with yoga, meditation and awareness.

Day 6: Chegaga – Taznacht – Ouarzazate (approx. 225 km)
This day we discover the secrets of the desert, the traditional way of life of the Nomads and Berber people. We drive through large and impressive sand dunes of Chgaga and through the lowlands of Iriki. For most of the year this is a parched lake with dunes at the edges.
We continue our trip to Foum-Zguid, where nice villages can be found.
After lunch we continue through breathtakingly beautiful scenery and through the most beautiful geological crevices of Morocco to Tazenakht.
Tazenakht is the centre of the carpet weaving mill. Here the famous Ouzguida carpets are woven. Here we get explanations about the various weaving and dyeing techniques. After that we continue to the city of Ouarzazate. Here we can visit the Kasbah of Taourirt.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Tizi-n-Tichka 2260 m – Vallee Ourika approx. 250 km).
Today we continue over the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka 2260m, the most beautiful mountain route in Morocco and right through the High Atlas back to Marrakech.
From Marrakech we take the road to Oukaimeden through the Ourika valley with green terraces and various kinds of fruit trees such as cherry, apple and walnut.
Also a lot of handicraft from cooperatives can often be seen.
We stay 2 nights at Salama Ayurveda in the Atlas Mountains.

Day 8: Atlas Mountains
Hiking, possibility of hammam treatment, foot massage in the river and time for individual treatments by Marleen and/or Robby.

Day 9: Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast we are picked up and brought back to Marrakech.
Here in the afternoon we can visit the Saadian tombs, the El Bahia Palais, Medrassa Ben Youssef, Souks (market) and the El koutoubia tower.
We spend the night in a riad in the old town of Medina-Marrakech.

Day 10: Marrakech – Amsterdam
After breakfast we are picked up for transfer to Marrakech airport, from where we fly back to Amsterdam.
